About Mater Dei Academy of Tagaytay

The name Mater Dei is a Latin word for Mother of God. Mater Dei Academy is a Catholic Educational Institution administered by the Congregation of Sister Handmaids of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. It was established in 1995 as a response to the pressing demands for an authentic Catholic Christian quality education, which is the main thrust of the Congregation’s educational mission as it shares in the evangelical mission of the Catholic Church.

OUR SEAL

At the center of the seal is the heart that signifies Christ’s great love that compels us to love our neighbors, manifested through enduring service and concern for others especially the poor. Above it is the flame stands for our zeal to follow the ways and teachings of Christ, radiating His light through an active life filled with the Vincentian virtues of simplicity, humility, and joyful charity. 

OUR MOTTO 

Caritas Christi Urget Nos” the Charity of Christ Urges Us. This motto has moved our countless sisters to offer their lives in complete availability in the service of God’s people inspiring others to ground their life and works to the unchanging love of God.

OUR COLORS

Blue and White symbolize our devotion and adherence to the virtues and life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mater Dei.

1. To develop socially oriented servant leaders with an ardent desire to uplift and empower the poor, the weak and the marginalized.

2. To prepare learners to become world-ready, equipped with skills and competencies for university and career success through relevant, innovative and applied learning.

 3. To provide accelerated preparatory curriculum that focuses on mathematics, science, and technology. 

4. To engage in environmental service projects in order to create and maintain healthy environments for learning and living.

5. To be partners in transforming homes into Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) where the child’s intellectual and moral formation is shaped according to Gospel values.
